Buddy Greco with Benny Goodman a/o Wardell Gray (1948-1949)

BUDDY GRECO with BENNY GOODMAN a/o Wardell Gray 1948-1949.

  Benny Goodman (1950)

Buddy Greco with Benny Goodman November 1949 Manila.

Preview:
In 1948 Elliot Wexler (Benny Goodman's manager) noticed the Buddy Greco trio (included Francis Beecher guitar & Don Sgro bass) at Philadelphia's Club 13 and advised Benny Goodman to listen to Buddy.
Late 1948 Buddy joined the Benny Goodman band as a piano-player, vocalist and arranger, Francis Beecher joined as guitar player.
In 1949 Benny & Buddy visited the UK and Buddy headed the Benny Goodman band for several occasions.
Late 1949 they made a trip to the Philippines. Buddy & Benny recorded about 150 items in 1948/1949.
Benny Goodman hated playing bop and disbanded the band after the November trip to the Philippines in December 1949.
The first recording with Wardell Gray goes back to November 1948.
The first recording with Benny Goodman December 1948.
After his first visit to England  July 1949 with only support by local musicians, Benny visited England again in  April 1950 but without Buddy Greco .
I'm pretty sure Benny disbanded the Band in winter 1949/1950 and Buddy left Benny at that time.

(http://www.the-price-of-rice.info/INTERESTING_ARTICLE.html) According to Billboard November 5th 1949 the bassplayer was Bob Carter! The tour started November 13th 1949.  Back home Benny disbanded the band. As far as I know this ends the recordings with Benny Goodman playing bop.
